Scheduled
Please restart Virus-Scanner Service after improvements for ATP/ATD backend services
on Monday, July 10th 2017, between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.Pacific Time ( Tuesday July 11th 2017, 2am - 3:00 am Central Europe)

Note:
Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) in older NextGen Firewall releases is known as Advanced Threat Detection (ATD).

We are planning on updating the Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) backend services to provide better detection coverage for all Barracuda NextGen Firewalls.

This does NOT CAUSE AN OUTAGE !

However, we're asking our customers running with enabled Advanced Threat Protection to restart the virus scanner service as a security precaution after the service improvements:

F-Series: Manually:
CONTROL -> Server -> Service Status Window -> right click on "Virus-Scanner" an select "Stop Service".
( the service will restart automatically )

F-Series: CLI (for scripting):
"phionctrl module stop virscan"
( the service will restart automatically )

X-Series:
On the Barracuda Firewalls X-Series please go to Firewall Tab -> Settings -> VIRUS PROTECTION element.
Set "Enable Virus Protection" to "No"
Click "Save"
Set "Enable Virus Protection" to "Yes"
In the ADVANCED THREAT DETECTION element:
Set "Enable Advanced Threat Detection" to Yes Click "Save"

FAQ:
Q: What Barracuda NextGen Firewalls does this affect ?
A: All Barracuda NextGen Firewalls F-Series and X-Series with enabled Advanced Threat Protection service.

Q: Why is a service restart of the Virus-Scanner service required ?
A: The Virus-Scanner service on the Barracuda NextGen Firewall handles the connection to the ATD/ATP backend service in the datacenters. The Backend changes will be picked up by the Virus-Scanner service automatically, however in some cases this may leave some files in the cloud queue orphaned and no longer accessible once the Virus-Scanner service has picked up the new services.

Q: What is 5:30 p.m.Pacific Time translated into my time zone ?
A: Please see http://www.timebie.com/std/utc.php?q=1.0%C2%A0
